In food manufacturing, reliable electricity plays a central role in maintaining consistent production, product quality and overall operational efficiency. For cereal producers, uninterrupted power supports each stage of the process from raw ingredient handling to processing, packaging and distribution.
Alpen Food Company Pty Ltd, a well-established cereal manufacturer of Nutrific and Alpen Muesli, has integrated on-site renewable energy into its operations to support these requirements.
A 373.8 kWp grid-tied solar PV system has been installed to align with the facility’s daytime energy demands. The system supplies power directly to the site, supporting key production equipment such as mixers, extruders, dryers and packaging lines during peak operating hours.
By incorporating solar generation into its energy mix, the facility is able to supplement grid electricity during the day while maintaining stable operations across its production processes.
This installation highlights how grid-tied solar can be effectively integrated into large-scale food manufacturing environments, supporting both operational continuity and more efficient energy usage.
